Astragalus membranaceus 

Astragalus is a sweet and slightly warming root with a long history of use in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It is most well-known as a superb immune system tonic; in TCM, it is believed to strengthen a depleted protection qi, assuring the body's resistance to foreign invaders. This herb can be useful for those with spontaneous or/or excessive sweating. Some even consider astragalus an adaptogen, or tonic herb that can help the body find its own balance with regards to a wide variety of complaints. It is an incredibly restorative herb, especially for folks who have been severely depleted by prolonged stress, exhaustion, or illness.
