Yucca is a medicinal shrub with a long history of use by Indigenous people in the deserts of the Southwestern United States. It is excellent for reducing inflammation and calming arthritic pain.  Its bland, starchy, anti-inflammatory characteristics made it an excellent herb for those with inflammatory bowel disorders and IBS.  It is also great for lowering high blood pressure. Yucca is used topically as a deodorizer, and sometimes included in soap.
