Tanacetum parthenium

Feverfew acts to reduce inflammation and calm spasms. It is best known as a superior herb for the prevention of migraines and frequent headaches. Feverfew’s benefits for headache sufferers are likely due to its abilities to control inflammation that constricts blood vessels in the head, and to prevent these blood vessels from spasming. Feverfew’s anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic actions may be useful for pain and arthritic complaints as well as dizziness, tinnitus, and painful or sluggish menstruation. In cases of high blood pressure due to fluid imbalance, feverfew may be useful due to its ability to promote healthy kidney function. Feverfew may also help awaken appetite, stimulate bile production, and ease cramping or inflammation in the gut, especially when combined with other anti-inflammatory digestive herbs, such as meadowsweet, chamomile and marshmallow.

*Feverfew may be unsafe during pregnancy. This should not be considered a full list of all possible contraindications.*
