Shepherd’s purse is a highly astringent and drying herb primarily used to staunch heavy bleeding and tone tissues in conditions characterized by laxity. It can be a godsend for those with heavy menstrual cycles, or cycles that occur too frequent or continue too long. It can also be applied topically for varicose veins, hernia, or gout attacks.
