Pipsissewa has a long history of use amongst Native American people. Through its diuretic action, it works to expel sediment and acids from the urinary tract. This makes it useful for diseases of the urinary system, such as kidney stones, UTIs, urethritis, and cystitis, as well as for gout, rheumatism, and prostatitis. Pipsissewa also makes a great poultice for rheumatic and muscle pain.
THS recommends that you consult with a qualified healthcare professional before using herbal products, particularly if you take other medications, or if you are nursing, pregnant, or expecting to become pregnant.
