Origanum vulgare
The primary constituents in oregano are thymol and carvacrol, which are also found in thyme. These compounds help loosen phlegm in the lungs and relieve spasms in the bronchial passages. Oregano can also help expel gas, reduce intestinal cramping, and support healthy liver function. It is a strong antimicrobial herb, useful for bacterial, fungal, and parasitic infections.
*Medicinal doses of oregano may not be appropriate during pregnancy. This is not a full list of all possible contraindications*
