Eleutherococcus senticosus 

Used by Russian athletes to improve stamina, eleuthero is a wonderful adaptogen.  Like other medicines in its class, it helps the body recalibrate its stress response.  This makes eleuthero potentially useful in a wide variety of ailments induced or exacerbated by stress.
