The root of this tenacious weed is one of the most widely used alteratives in Western herbalism.  It can thin the fluids, reduce excess heat, and clear the liver by moving stagnant bile. It is also great for balancing the blood sugar, and drinking a cup every morning can help to reduce sugar cravings.
