False unicorn root is most well-known for its effects on the uterus. Herbalists often turn to false unicorn when the uterus suffers from prolapse or loss of tone, often characterized by a feeling of heaviness or a bearing-down sensation. These feelings are often accompanied by other symptoms of uterine laxity, such as excessive menstrual periods. False unicorn root has also been employed when there is threat of miscarriage.
