Dr. Bach, who popularized flower essences, stated that the people who most benefit from vervain essence are driven, strong-willed, enthusiastic, and unable to relax, driving themselves to mental and physical exhaustion. Vervain tea or tincture is an excellent remedy for tension and pain built up in the neck and shoulders. It is also useful for menopausal or premenstrual symptoms when nervous tension is present. Vervain is quite bitter and can be very soothing for dyspepsia and digestive upset. It may be used, alone or in combination with lemon balm, to calm hyperthyroid. It also has historic use as an altar herb, and is believed to have the power to call or dispel spirits.
*Not recommended for those with hypothyroidism. This is not a complete list of all possible contraindications.*
