Black Cohosh is well known for its pre- and peri-menopausal support. Its phytoestrogenic components can help relieve the notorious hormonal hot flashes, sweating, fatigue, and mood changes. Black cohosh may be helpful for those dealing with menopausal symptoms after partial hysterectomy. It can also bring forth suppressed menstrual flow, especially one that has ceased due to cold constitution. Black cohosh is also a wonderful antispasmodic and nervine, and has been used to alleviate anxiety, depression and chronic pain in people of any sex. It can also be useful in chronic bronchial irritation with spasmodic coughing.
