Garlic is not only a favorite addition to sauces and spice blends, but also one of the best antimicrobial, antifungal, and anti-parasitic herbs around. It is one of the main components in fire cider, a traditional warming tonic and cold remedy made by infusing ingredients in apple cider vinegar. Studies have shown that, when taken regularly, garlic can help to decrease LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and increase HDL cholesterol. Topically, garlic makes a wonderful topical bug repellent- though you may repel humans as well!
