The flowers and bark of the beautiful mimosa tree are highly valued in both Western herbalism and traditional Chinese medicine. Mimosa is an excellent treatment for stress, depression, and psychological trauma. In traditional Chinese medicine it is known as he huan hua, or ‘happy get-together flower,’ reflecting its reputation as an excellent herb for grief, sorrow, and despair. Mimosa can be taken in tincture, tea, or capsule form.
