Coriander Seed

Coriandrum sativum

Coriander contains cineole and linoleic acid, two compounds that help to reduce symptoms of arthritis and inflammation. The seeds are a diuretic, which makes them useful for reducing edema. Coriander has been used to help raise levels of healthy cholesterol (HDL). Like many culinary spices, coriander regulates digestion, dispels bloating, and can calm diarrhea. Its soothing antiseptic properties make it beneficial for ulcers in the mouth, and it is a common ingredient in natural toothpastes. Coriander also offers a wealth of iron and calcium!
